Testimonials

I am so thankful for Brock’s “Worship Music Industry” course! As somebody who considers themselves primarily creative – a lot of the business side used to intimidate me. Words like licensing, publishing, distribution etc. used to feel like a foreign language, but with Brock’s guidance all of these topics became understandable. The course is broken down into “bite sized” modules between 1 to 10 minutes – so I was really able to process what was being taught. Having gone to NYU for music, I can honestly say that this course is comparable to an entire University course on music business. If you’re looking to build momentum behind the music ministry of your church – this course is a must have! It will teach you how to steward the songs well, how to navigate the industry and give you a realistic view of what it takes to get your song from the platform to the marketplace. Financially, it is worth the investment – not only because of the material but also because you would pay way more to hire an expert to come in and equip your team on over 17 topics. I’m excited to see the way this course will empower the Church to step into the industry with excellence and without intimidation.
Melody Hernandez, Worship Leader and Songwriter, Influence Music
Brock’s ‘The Complete Course’ is the perfect roadmap for churches who want to develop and launch their worship community into the marketplace. Through clear, concise teaching videos, he provides in depth wisdom and insight on the ins and outs of the business and what it takes to successfully create a publishing/record label within a church framework. With Brock’s successful and proven track record, this course and his teaching is the obvious choice for any church looking to go professional with their music.
Trevor Biehn, Senior Leader, Jubilee Stratford
We need to be wise about how we steward the gifts God has given us. If you’re going to write, release, perform or share music, let Brock guide you through the process. In this course Brock has gracefully helped us navigate the complexity of the worship industry. We’re now becoming good stewards of the songs God has given us and leverage them for the mission our church community.

I help creatives, churches, and organizations leverage knowledge, avoid costly mistakes, and learn how to thrive in the worship music industry

If you're like most people in the worship music industry, you've probably asked yourself questions like, "how's a co-pub deal really work," "how should the song ownership be split up," or "does my church risk its nonprofit status if it pays me royalties." In fact, there's probably dozens of questions you've wondered and can never seem to find a straight answer.

If you're a church, not knowing the answer to these and other important questions can mean tens of thousands of dollars wasted and fights within the ranks. If you're a worship leader, songwriter, producer, or other creative, not knowing the answers can literally kill your chances of having a successful career.

My name is Brock Shinen and I'm an attorney and strategy consultant to the worship music community. I work with some of the biggest churches and worship movements in the country, and some of the most respected and successful worship leaders, songwriters, and producers in the business.

I help individuals and churches in the worship community:

1. Make smarter business decisions that...
2. Avoid costly mistakes, while...
3. Increasing income and opportunities.

In my trainings, I speak directly to three key decision maker groups:

1. Pastors, board members, finance directors and others charged with making decisions about church finances, resources, and projects.
2. Staff worship leaders, songwriters, producers, videographers, creative directors, experience directors and other creative staff teams.
3. Individual creatives and creative teams.

I show you how to understand the industry, what you need to understand about it, why you need to understand it, and how to make the decisions that avoid costly mistakes and make a bigger impact.

My trainings help you generate more money to further your Kingdom purpose, and maintain your value system and integrity in the process!

FAQ

Are there any special terms I should be aware of?

Absolutely!

1. Your access is personal and not transferrable. You are not allowed to share your login access or any of the course contents with anyone, except as permitted (see "If we purchased this as a band or church, can we share the course internally with our team?").

2. By accessing this course, you grant Brock Shinen permission to mention your name (and your band, church, ministry, etc., name) in promotional and marketing materials, testimonials, etc.

3. Violation of these special provisions, or any other terms and conditions that are established by me or Podia (or any other applicable third-party vendor) are grounds for termination of your account without a refund.

I've gone to some of the "big" worship schools (Bethel's WorshipU, Hillsong, etc.) - do I still need this course?

The worship schools hosted by the big worship movements teach you about your heart and theology; they teach you about the craft of songwriting and leading. None of them teach you how the industry works or how to make smart and effective decisions in the industry.

In my world, where I actually advise many of the worship movements who host these schools, I am able to clearly see the missing components. I see how churches, worship movements, worship leaders, songwriters, and others struggle with uninformed/misinformed decisions, wasted resources, and deals that act as jail cells. I basically pull the curtain on the industry and show you the "other side" of the worship industry - The side that no one is talking about, but everyone wishes they understood.

If we purchased this as a band or church, can we share the course internally with our team?

Yes!

I recognize that individuals, teams, and churches will be taking this course. If you purchased this as a "team" (worship team, band, etc.) or as a church or other ministry organization, you are allowed to share it within your team or church/organization. You are not allowed to permit others who are outside of your team, church, or organization to access the program through your login credentials.

How can I be an affiliate and make a fee for selling this course?

How do I know if this course is for me?

Watch the video in Module 1 and you'll have your answer!

What can I expect to learn in this course?

How to make better decisions in the worship music industry by becoming informed and finally understanding how the industry actually works, where the money actually flows, and what deals actually mean. It will be like receiving blueprints to the industry and a clear plan of action on how to succeed on the business side.

Seems like a ton of content...and a ton of work!

Tons of content - yes!

Tons of work - no!

I did the work for you! I basically took my decades of experience helping others navigate this industry and asked the questions you would want to ask and then answered them for you. You literally just have to sit back, relax, and take it all in. As much as it's even possible, this is a "done for you" type program.

I have a lot of questions about this stuff. What should I do?

First - take the course from start to finish!
Second - reach out and ask: mailto: hello@brockshinen.com
Third - My goal for ongoing conversation is a private forum (e.g., Facebook group, etc.), so let me know what you think about that

How does this differ from schools of worship and other courses out there?

Aside from this course, there's NOTHING out there that teaches you the business side of the worship music industry. Sure, some of the worship schools have an "intro to worship business" type course that is taught as an afterthought and doesn't even scratch the surface of what you need to know to succeed and thrive. This course will teach you more than you have ever learned in any setting. Period.

How do you reconcile the spiritual side of the worship industry with the business side?

Watch the "why is Brock Shinen, Esq., the best person to teach this course" video in Module 1 and you'll learn about me and how I reconcile the spiritual and business sides of the equation. In short - I'm a child of worship, born and raised in a family of pastors, worship leaders, and traveling ministries. Part of my "gift" is my ability to weave biblical principles, business expertise, and a thorough understanding of worship. In my mind, there's no distinction between the "spiritual" and the business side of the worship music industry- they are one and the same.

The course sounds expensive?

It's not expensive at all! You would easily pay $15,000 or more in a university setting to learn what I teach you in this course. Plus, I make it a lot more practical and easy to digest than any university course. More importantly, my experience in working with some of the largest and most successful worship movements, worship leaders, songwriters, and producers in the world tells me that my course will help you save tens of thousands of dollars in costly mistakes, years of bad deals, and tons of heartache. This course will help you make money!
